Visitors to Club Fields.
The visitor’s book at the Whams appears to be sort of working in that a record is being kept of guests who attend flying sessions. These will be minuted at the next committee meeting to satisfy the requirements of our insurers.
It would be helpful if, as well as making a note of the visitors name, someone could drop me the details in an email so that I don’t waste a journey checking for nothing. This particularly applies to Tinkers because I only have one glider to fly and that doesn’t happen often!
I got an email from ex-airtraffic control brother- in- law today.
A man went fishing in Alaska and flew his aircraft to the side of the lake. He left his lunch and a box of bait in the aircraft and whilst he was fishing a bear decided that this was dinner.
Lucky for the pilot the bear did not damage the radio so he he got another pilot to bring him a box of duct tape, two new tyres and he mended it and then FLEW IT HOME!!!!!
I have seen some patched up models in my time - but - would you fly in this?

Model Shop in Elland
Kevin Potts sent the following email which is self explanitry.
Hi Alec
Just wanted to tell you about a model shop in Elland that I have used for around
a year now, its not very big but JEFF, the owner has been fantastic with me in
offering advise and obtaining items I have required.
A few members have now shopped there now and bought items, I have spoken to Jeff
and he has said he will give 10% discount to all HDMAC members on production of
their membership cards.
His stock is limited but he is willing to stock items regularly used, he is
willing to order anything anyone requires so no postage costs there.
