Sledbrook and all things
“QUIET”! & Beautiful.
This site has again been secured for our use until 1st April 2012 so let’s see you make use of it. If you own something quiet and thermally this really is the ideal site to fly from – acres of flat land and a little bit of slope lift over towards Hepworth Iron. (Wavin for our younger members)
Dunford Parish Gala 23 July 2011
Julie and I visited the gala which was in full swing when we arrived at about 1.45pm. As well as a small contingent of modellers the show included a good selection of vintage car enthusiasts, motorcycle geeks and even more vintage miniature steam engines. As well as various form of transport through the ages, full size and miniature there were numerous car boot tables with everything for sale from vintage fire extinguishers to Barbie Dolls, old books to old tools and everything in-between.
Mrs Cockburn (our landlord at Sledbrook) invited Julie and I into the hall for tea and managed to sell us lots of raffle tickets. A pleasant afternoon but a pity it was so windy. I didn’t see anyone flying during the hour and a half we were there.

When I was about 15 Rover 100's and 90's were old mens cars. they still are but now I would like one.
Now the MG was what I realy realy wanted but couldn't afford - and still can't!
